Service Records: Enlisted 14th October 1914 aged 28 years and 6 months old. Husband of Jane, of Ednaston, and they had a son and a daughter. Admitted to hospital 4th September 1915 with rheumatism. Admitted to hospital 19th September 1915 with impetigo. Admitted to hospital 23rd September 1915 with dermatitis. He was killed alongside Privates Thomas Swain and William Whitmore, in a sentry post at Neuville St. Vaast. A mine was exploded near the sentry post, burying the three men with earth.
